In late 1926, J.P. Barnes stopped at a farm in Karnes County, Texas to see if he could find a job. He talked to Ed Reynolds who was farming the land with his father, Ed Reynolds, Sr. The Reynolds' put him to work and not long after he started, he met the oldest Reynolds daughter, Edna Lucille. Even though J.P. was 14 years older than Edna, they were soon married in April, 1927 in Kenedy, Texas.

By the time Edna & J. P.'s first child, Ruby Faye was born on 15-Nov-1928, they were living in Coleman County, Texas near Santa Anna – next to the Ed Reynolds family, Edna's parents. Here the Barnes' welcomed their second daughter, Juanita Pearlee born on 26-Aug-1930.

Sometime before 1933, the Barnes moved to Milam County, Texas where another daughter, Lucy Kathrine was born on 16-Jan-1933. From Milam County, they moved to Austin, Texas where daughter Mildred Rosina was born on 14-Feb-1935. The Barnes didn't stay in Austin long and by the time baby brother, Eddie Ray was born on 05-Dec-1937, the family was in Coleman County.

The Ed Reynolds' moved to Bangs, Texas in 1939 so the Barnes' might have followed because a second son, James Pierce, Jr "Sonny" was born in Brown County on 07-Feb-1940. Another little baby was born in 1943 but did not survive.

A devastating event happen on August 19, 1946 when Juanita's older sister, Ruby Fay, died of congestive heart failure. Even though both the Barnes and Reynolds families mourned the loss, it must have been extremely hard for Juanita. The two girls were near the same age and looked so much alike.

Soon after Ruby Fay's death, the Barnes divorced and Juanita's mother, Edna married a 2nd time. From that union, another brother, Bobby Edwin Daniels was born in Brownwood, Texas on 30-Sep-1947. For most of Juanita's life, her family always lived near her grandparents, Ed and Cynthia Reynolds and her Reynolds aunts and uncles. They were a very close knit family.

On 24-Mar-1947, Juanita married Dock 'Junior' Bailey. On 15-Dec-1947, they welcomed their first child, Danny Mack born in Brownwood, Texas. Then on 05-Feb-1950, again in Brownwood, a little daughter was born, Wanda Faye. Their last baby, Connie Lucille was born on 11-Jul-1952 also in Brownwood. From the time they married, Juanita & Junior had several moves back and forth between San Angelo, Texas and Slaton, Texas because of Junior's work with the railroad. No matter, Juanita was home with her family in Brownwood for the births of her children. The Bailey's last move was from San Angelo to Slaton when Connie was only a week old. Slaton was where they remained and where they raised their family. Juanita's younger brothers, Eddie Ray and Sonny lived with the Bailey's most of their teenage years.

Sadly, Juanita and Junior divorced in 1977 and then on 19-Aug-1982, Juanita's daughter, Wanda Faye was killed in an auto accident. When Juanita's health started to deteriorate, she moved to a facility in Arlington, Texas to be near her youngest daughter, Connie. It was there that she passed away on 22-Jul-2017.

Juanita was cremated and was laid to rest beside her precious daughter, Wanda Faye, at a family memorial service on 14-Jul-2018 at the Englewood Cemetery in Slayton, Texas.
