A.W.Greenfield of Long Creek was notified yesterday of the death of his son, Private Leslie A. Greenfield from Tubor pneumonia in a hospital in France. Private Greenfield was well known around Mt. Zion, having lived there the greater part of his life. He was 29 years of age.
Greenfield was inducted into the service by the board in a small town in Iowa, July 24 and was sent to an eastern camp where he was attached to a replacement battalion.
After a short training in this country he was sent to France. His parents had received no news from him since he was inducted into the service until the message came telling of his death..
He leaves his parents and one brother, Harly B.Greenfield, who is now in training at Camp Grant.
