MAN KILLED IN FALL OFF TRUCK
Sonora, Feb 4 - Joseph W Martin Sr, for many years a resident of Soulsbyville, was instantly killed yesterday shortly after going to work with the county road crew. Martin, who was standing on the running board of the truck signaled the driver where to dump a load of gravel on the Buckhorn Hill when he suddenly fell to the ground, striking his head on the ground. The body was brought to Sonora by Coroner Josie Terzich, who will hold an inquest.
Deceased who is a native of England, aged 64 years, is survived by a widow, Mrs Elizabeth Martin, and five sons and five daughters: Joseph W Jr, Harold S Martin, Beben P Martin, and William J Martin, Sonora, and George Martin, Soulsbyville; Mrs Cleo Acker, Mrs Joseph Garaventa, Sonora; Mrs Thelma Oliver, Standard; Misses Pearl A and Phyllis Martin, Soulsbyville.
