Fractured Hip, Suffered Five Weeks Ago, Causes Adelphi Woman's Demise
A fractured hip suffered five weeks ago caused the death of Mrs. Mary Ellen Truex, aged 94, Friday at 6 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaiah Brown-347 E. Corwin St.
Mrs. Truex was a resident of Adelphi.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m.at the M.E. Church in Adelphiwith Rev. Spurgeon L. Metzler officiating. Burial will be in Adelphi Cemetery by M. S. Rinehart.
Mrs. Truex, possibly the oldest woman in the Adelphi community, was born Aug. 29, 1838 a daughter of William and Carolina Rodgers. She was married April 2, 1870 to Jasper Truex who passed away Dec. 9, 1932.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Besides the daughter at whose house she died, another daughter, Mrs. Martha Haughn of Grove City; two sons, William of this city and Clinton of Madison-twp.; two sisters, Mrs. Urilla Nichols of Buffalo, O., and Mrs. Delfia Layne of Somerset, survive.
