Clarence Kenneth Van Brakle, Jr. was born September 17, 1954 in Austin, Texas to Elizabeth Earls Van Brakle and Clarence Kenneth Van Brakle, Sr.

Early Sunday morning, November 3, 2019, Clarence departed this life to be with the Lord.

Clarence professed a love for Christ and was baptized at an early age by Reverend Alfred Johnson at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Clarence attended Austin Independent School District where he enjoyed playing sports such as basketball and football. In Kenny’s spare time you would often find him playing his saxophone as the lead saxophonist of his band. His smile was contagious as he greeted everyone he encountered, but don’t let those big beautiful brown eyes and that smile fool you Kenny didn’t mind whooping anyone in a game of dominos but if you happened to win it was because you cheated. Kenny enjoyed his time watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, and when his Cowboys lost he would say the “Cowboys are sorry”.
Kenny became VIP at whichever nursing home he was at because anywhere he went you knew you were being entertained by one of Gods angels. Kenny was also known for spreading the Gospel to others by singing his favorite song “Jesus is On the Main Line”.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terrence Kenneth Williams-Van Brakle and brother, Gerald Carl Van Brakle, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory; son Clarence Flint; daughters, Kimberly Ramirez, Melisha Sorrells, Camisha Dixon, Makisha Van Brakle; sister, Michelle Van Brakle; brother, Dennis Van Brakle; special sister-in-law, Janet Van Brakle; best friend Stewart “Boo” King; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
