On May 21, 1954, he married Betty Jean Crane, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Kathleen (Jim) Sallee of North Judson, his son, David (Melonie O’Mara) Perry of Knox, and his brother, Ralph (Diane) Perry of The Villages, FL.
He was preceded in death by half-sisters Loraine and Violet, half-brother Eddie, his brother Milton, and infant brother, Dale.
Early in life he had been a factory and construction worker, a truck driver hauling pulpwood, and a hog farmer. He later started his own successful business “Perry Pallet and Box”. Coinciding with these, he was also a minister for approximately 50 years. He enjoyed counseling at summer camps for kids and anything to do with woodworking. He was teased for being an avid Menards shopper.
