Tommy Nichols Kinzer
October 6, 1948 - November 11, 2019

Tommy Nichols Kinzer, age 71, husband of Marsha Rowland Kinzer and a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at his residence.

Tommy was born on October 6, 1948 in Maury County and was the son of the late Hubert Nichols Kinzer and the late Mary Dell Goad Kinzer. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked many years in sales and service for Columbia Fire Equipment before retiring. He was a member of the Pentecostals of Columbia Church for several years. Formerly he was a member of Pentecostal Church of Christ where he had a passion for putting together their Christmas programs and organized and directed Christmas and Easter plays. He also was the Sunday School Superintendent for several years. Tommy was a former member of Maury County Arts Guild. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ and loved decorating his house for all the holidays. He loved roller coasters and was the CHS Marching band’s biggest fan. Tommy was a gentle giant who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife: Marsha Rowland Kinzer of Columbia; son: Derrick (Jessica) Kinzer of Columbia; daughter: Allison Kinzer of Columbia; grandchildren: Colton, Mikayla, and Jackson Kinzer; great grandchild: Teddy Kinzer; sister in law: Donna (Gary) Witherow; brothers in law: Jacky (Wanda) Rowland and Jeffrey Rowland; father in law: Jimmy (Barbara) Rowland; mother in law: Rose Rowland; nieces and nephews; and beloved pets: Honeybun and Sally.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: John “Coo Coo” Kinzer and his stepmother: Dorothy Hollis Kinzer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Telford Tharp, Rev. Jason Keyser, and Buddy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Conner, Willie Adams, Ron Richardson, Jacky Rowland, Jeffrey Rowland, Terry Lester, Jeremy Fee, Gary Witherow, and Colton Kinzer. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the members of the Pentecostals of Columbia Church and the past and present employees of Columbia Fire Equipment
