Alvena Louise Morse was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Silex, MO, to George William Copher and Annie Thompson Copher. She married Raymond Morse on Feb. 17, 1961, in Louisiana, MO. Alvena was a self-employed, dedicated home care giver. She loved her work and took care of many ill friends during her years of employment. Alvena enjoyed reading and crocheting and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a very loving and caring person.
Mrs. Morse is survived by her husband, Raymond Morse of Montgomery City, MO; two daughters: Joyce Morse of Columbia, MO; and Ramona Morse of Wellsville, MO; one sister-in-law, Mary Copher of Louisiana, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George William and Annie Thompson Copher; three brothers: William "Buck", Lawrence and Melvin Copher; and one sister, Oleva Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Sat., July 7, 2007, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Pastor Glenn Swarthout will officiate and interment will be in the Millcreek Cemetery in Silex, MO. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Sat. at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Golden Living Center/Gamma Road Lodge or to the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Mexico, MO; c/o Schlanker Funeral Home.
