This is my father-in-law. He was married to Helen Hudson Pieffer until his death in 1984, from a heart attack. Walter served in the US Army in the European Theater as a medic.
He was survived by his wife, Helen,( now deceased), Son Walter, 4 daughters, Anna Simpson,
Helen Dancanich, Ruth Straiton & Patrica McElhone.
He has 11 grand children and numerous Great grandchildren.
He worked for many years at Stranahan Gears in Phila. where he live his entire live.
He seemed to me a gentle giant of a man, and his children tell me he was stern but fair.
I remember him sitting up stairs in the window smoking his cigars just watching what went on in the neighbor hood. Being married to his son, I know the values he lived by and instilled in him.
He left us way too soon.
