Maurice Alvin Devereaux, nicknamed "Allie" was the son of Marquis (Marcus) L. Devereaux and Harriet Mariah Cummins Devereaux. He married Ruth Sarah Crump and they had two children: Rena E. Devereaux (Roberts) and Mark Benjamin Devereaux.

"Allie" was my great-grandfather - he died of tuberculosis when he was still quite young. He, along with his wife Ruth "Goggy" and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, had a store in Colorado called the "Fort Lupton Mercantile". After Allie died, they kept the store going until the mid 1940's. My dad has great memories of this store and the town of Fort Lupton. He said it was a great place to live when he was a kid.
