Mr. Porter was born at Beaver Falls, Sept. 12, 1883, the son of Clark and Mary McCall Porter. He was an electrician at the Shenango Penn-Mold co. of Sharpsville at the time of his death.
Surviving are four sons; Sgt George Porter, Jr. in the south Pacific; Pvt. Frank Porter, station unknown; Pvt. Claire Porter at Fort Bragg N.C. and Edward Porter of Burghill; one daughter, Mabel at home; one grandchild; one sister, Mary Porter and a brother, Fred Porter, both of Sharpsville.

Funeral services for George Porter Emmett-st were held Saturday at the Love Funeral home Sharpsville. Rev. E. E. Johnston of the Church of the Nazarene, Sharon, officiated and burial was in Oakwood cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Polonus, jr., Roy Miller, Dale Miller, Albert Steiner, William Finzell and William Jewell.
