Marian Lee Abbott-Thomas, 99, of Georgetown, DE, departed this life on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at her residence. Born in Courtland, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse N. Applewhite and Lillie Fields Applewhite. Her husband, Willie Thomas, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Prospect A.M.E. Church in Georgetown where she was a former choir member and Pastor's Aide member.

She worked for private families and Draper King Cole Company in Milton, DE.

She will be lovingly remembered by: a daughter, Marian Lorraine Morris (Bishop Marvin); six sons, Bishop Calvin Abbott (Rachel), Reverend Eugene Abbott (Gaynell), Alexander Abbott, Bishop Jesse E.C. Abbott (Gloria), Jesse Wayne Applewhite, and Gregory Abbott (Tony); two stepsons, Reverend Willie Thomas and Reverend Emmanuel Davis (Dianne); a special niece, Apostle Brendell Smack (William); 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Shirley Phillips.

Mrs. Thomas will lie in repose on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 10 to 11 AM at New Dimensions Ministries, 1907 Jersey Road, Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Adams Street, Georgetown.
