Marie was born at the Providence Lying-In Hospital to Eva Laporte of Canada and an unnamed father. Her birth name was Alice Marie LaPorte. Eva was very young and unable to care for her daughter. Marie was adopted by Peter and Mary Louise Muccino, January 14, 1916. She grew up at 3 Coombs Avenue in Cranston, Rhode Island with her loving adopted parents. As a young woman Marie worked at the A&P as an egg packer and candler.
On June 27, 1933 she married William F. Braga at St. Ann's Church in Cranston. Bill Braga was a baker at the A&P. Marie continued to live in Cranston where she and Bill's family started with the birth of a daughter, Rosalind, followed by a son William F. Junior.
After the '38 Hurricane, Marie and her growing family moved to Somerville, Massachusetts. 52 Richdale Avenue was their home for many years. The Braga family was complete with the birth of sons Edward and Richard; and daughter Rita.
After her family was grown, Marie worked for a bank before retiring. She and her husband lived with their son Bill Jr in Billerica, Massachusetts before moving back to Rhode Island. Her last residence was Hardig Brook Village on Centerville Road in Warwick.
Grandmother of fifteen. Her grandchildren called her Grammy or Mimi.
