AGED LADY CALLED BY DEATH TODAY

MRS. W. G. DICKEY DIED AT HOME OF HER SISTER THIS MORNING

Mrs. W. G. Dickey, 90, died very suddenly this morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. H. Dickey* on Eighth street, after an illness of but a couple of days. She had been wakeful during the night and at one o'clock the sister was up and made a cup of coffee for her. This morning at 7:00 when the sister west to her room she found her dead. The funeral services will be held at the Dickey home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

She had made her home with her sister in this city since the death her son, the late Wayne G. Dickey [this should be Winfred "Wynne" G. Dickey] of Little Soo, a couple of years ago. The funeral service will be held at the Dickey home in this city, after which the body will be taken to Maxwell were interment will be by the side of her husband who passed away many years ago.

The only grandchild, Mrs. C. M. Mason, with her husband, is here from Cambridge, while Mrs. Wynne G. Dickey who is out with the Terry Uncle Tom show, which she has an interest in and manages, is expected here very soon.

The deceased, with her sister, Mrs. C. H. Dickey, had married brothers and the family home was at Maxwell for many years. Of later years she had lived with her only son, at his country home near Little Soo, where he made his headquarters during the time that he was a home from the road.

She had not been strong for some time but as late as Monday had been up and around the house and it was not until Wednesday that it was felt necessary to call a doctor.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. C. H. Dickey" was Myrtle M. Sherman who married Charles Henry Dickey on 24 June 1869 in Clayton County, Iowa. Myrtle M. Sherman and Harriet E. Sherman were the daughters of Moses Sherman and Mercy Lanphear/Lamphear.

The two sisters married brothers, Wiliam Gage Dickey and Charles Henry Dickey, both sons of Gilman Dickey and Catherine Drake.
