She emigrated to the United States with her husband, John Dixon, and eldest daughter Agnes. They left from Liverpool, England aboard the ship "United States," arriving in New York City on September 5, 1840.
The family first settled in Providence, RI and subsequently moved to Medway, Wrentham, and then Foxborough, Massachusetts.
She was the mother of the six oldest of John Dixon's thirteen children.
