Art graduated from East High school in 1935, and served as Secretary to that alumni class. He worked for the U.S. Postal service for many years, then later for Banker's Trust. He was a 50 year member of the Auburn Lodge, and of the ZaGaZig Shrine, Bowlers unit.
Art enjoyed fishing, visiting with family and friends, and playing with his grand children. He is survived by his two devoted sons, David and Daniel (Tena Gaskill), both of Des Moines, his brother, Astor, two grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and his best friend Helen Mallory. He was a member of Highland Park Lutheran Church.
