August Lutze aged 87 diec on Sunday at the home of his son, Richard, after an illness of three years.
Mr Lutze was born in Germany, Dec 8, 1845, and came to America with his parents in 1849, The family settled on a farm, Mr. Lutze spent the remainder of his life. He was married on April 14, 1874 to Mrs. Anna Stoever, who surviveds him. five children, Mrs Fred Schmit of Cleveland, Richard and Herman Lutze of Cleveland, Robert of Newton and Oscar of Town Meeme; two brothers Gustave and Robert and a sister Richard Vogel of Town Centerville, also survive.
Burial in Saxton Cemetery.

RESIDENT OF CENTERVILLE FOR 80 YEARS PASSES August Lutze, 87, a resident of this county since a boy of five years, passed away last night at the homestead farm in the town of Centerville, operated by his son Richard. He has been in failing health for the past several months. Burial will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the farm home.
The deceased was born in Germany in 1845 and emigrated to America with his parents in 1849. The family settled in Centerville. He grew to man-hood and took up farming and in 1874 was married to Anna Stoever, who survives him with one daughter, Mrs. Fred Schmidt, of Centerville, four sons, Robert of Newton, Richard and Herman of Centerville and Oscar of Meeme. Two brothers, Gustave and Robert and one sister, Mrs. Richard Vogel, all of Centerville, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.
