Leonard A. Holtz, age 89, of 2128 33rd St., Two Rivers, died Monday afternoon, March 4, 2013, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

Leonard was born February 28, 1924, a son of the late Arthur and Clara (Zipper) Holtz. He grew up working on the family farm in Branch. On November 23, 1957, he married Mary Anne Kugel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pilsen, Wisconsin. Leonard was employed at Hamilton Mfg. Co. for 35 years. In his retirement, he worked as a bartender at the Labor Hall and Lonz's Bar and also worked the early breakfast shift at Arvy's Restaurant, which he enjoyed because he was able to talk with many people. Leonard took great pride in his yard and enjoyed spending his time with family and good neighbors.

Survivors include his wife: Mary Anne Holtz, Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Frank Svacina of Manitowoc and Cheryl and Robert McGowan of Crosby, Texas; three grandchildren: Kyle Chivers, Ashley Chivers and Michael Kaznowski. He is further survived by a sister-in-law: Evelyn Tielens; a brother-in-law: Alvin Kugel; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother: Arthur Holtz, Jr.; and two sisters: Bernice Oswald and Isabell Kozlowski.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Road, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment in Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, is assisting the Holtz family with funeral arrangements.
