Carol J. Thayer
Carol J. Thayer, 57, of Friendship St., Willimantic, died on Monday,
(September 17, 2001) at Windham Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 23, 1943 in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Robert
Moseley and Sophie (Lesniak) Gorlach. She was a graduate of Windham High
School and had been employed by the State of Connecticut for many years at
the Mansfield Training School, and most recently at the CT Valley Hospital in
Middletown. Carol is survived by her son, Gregory Thayer of N. Windham;
three sisters, Nancy Caron of Canada, Joan Gorlach of N. Windham, and
Beverly Gorlach of Bolton; a brother, William Gorlach of N. Windham; and
several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter
Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, on Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. Her
funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with
burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her
family suggests memorial donations to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer
Center, c/o Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour St.. P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT
