OBITUARY: Beaver Dam Daily Citizen, Tuesday, January 2, 1973, page 12.
Mrs. Joseph Mallon, nee Mary M. Eggleston, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away Sunday, December 31 at City View Nursing Home, Madison, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 from the Murray Funeral Home and 11:00 from St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Thursday, January 4 with Rev. Frederick Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

She was born November 7, 1887 in Pardeeville to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Eggleston. On July 6, 1908 she married Joseph Mallon. She was a member of St. Patrick's

Her survivors are 4 sons, Alton, Walton and William of Beaver Dam and Vincon, Appleton; 6 daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Ione) Wagner of Florida, Mrs. Clarence (Naida) Pfeffer and Mrs. Michael (Charlotte) Maleck, Beaver Dam, Mrs. Lester (Shirley) Arndt, Horicon, Mrs. Vernon (Jane) Rau, Jackson, and Mrs. Ward (Jean) Elliott, Madison; 39 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Alton Eggleston, Beaver Dam and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be at the Murray Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. A parish rosary vigil will be said at 8 Wednesday evening.

Mary's mother was Martha Jane SINES, who was in turn a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (BROWN) SINES. The couple raised a family in Muskingum County, Ohio.
