Daniel A. Wright 34, of Indianapolis, passed away from an apparent heart attack on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was born January 22, 1975 in Indianapolis to Walter E. and Sharon A. Wright. Dan graduated from Southport High School in 1993 and attended Marian College. He worked for the Marion County Sheriff Department as a Sergeant in the Jail Division. He was a well-loved, dedicated, trustworthy gentle giant which helped him earn the rank of Sergeant one year ago. In addition to his dedication as Sergeant, Dan was a Field Training Officer and Union Steward at the Marion County Jail. He is survived by his mother, Sharon A. Wright; siblings, Pat Bragg, Vicki Robinson, Michael Eugene Wright, Howard Wright, and Diana Bragg; grandmother, Shirley Jenneman; trusty canine companion, Cato; and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter E. Wright, and brother, John Wright. Visitation is Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Little & Sons Stop 11 Road Chapel, where the funeral is Friday, September 18, 2009 at Noon. Entombment will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
