Mary was born on January 8, 1952 in Green Bay to Ellen (Baenen) Baierl and the late Roland Baierl. She graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School with the class of 1970. Mary was employed for many years with Wisconsin Public Service and Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant. She went on to follow her love for flowers and owned and operated a flower shop. Mary’s passion was theater. She not only acted, but directed, scripted, designed costumes and choreographed numerous productions. Mary was involved with Kewaunee Young People’s Theater including Hooray for Hollywood, Little Sandwich Theater, Masquers and Showtime. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with friends, the “Irenes”, and family – especially her grandsons.
Survivors include Mary’s two daughters: Elizabeth (Lee) Granger, Manitowoc; and Leigh Messmann, Green Bay; two grandsons: Mason Johnson and Douglas Ehrendreich; mother: Ellen Baierl, Luxemburg; eight siblings: Dave (Carol) Baierl, Luxemburg; Don (Nel) Baierl, Sierra Vista, AZ; Barb (Barry) Nelson, Kewaunee; Ann (James) Voyles, Luxemburg; Joan (Bill) Seidl, Luxemburg; Julie (Al) Paul, Green Bay; Bob (Judy) Baierl, New Franken; and John (Brenda) Baierl, Luxemburg; sister-in-law: Julie (Dave) Dalebroux, Luxemburg; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her father: Roland; and brother: Tom “Butch” Baierl.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1412 Main Street, Luxemburg, WI 54217. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Milton Suess. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at Noon.
