Jean, as she was known by family and friends, was born to Ralph Walters Veal and Edith Gertrude Burns, on January 26, 1935 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. She attended school in Mineral Wells and moved to Ranger as a teenager. Jean attended Ranger High School until she married (Ira) Calvin Ainsworth on Sept. 30, 1950 in Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto County, Texas.
Jean was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and attended Cowboy Church on a regular basis until her illness. She was also a member and very active in the Jaycees during the 60's and a member of a Ranger ladies fast pitch softball team, known as the Fox Trotters. She and Calvin were members of the Roaring Ranger Riding Club and the Eastland County Sheriff's Posse in the 80's. Jean and Calvin, along with son, Ronnie, owned and operated Ainsworth's Gulf and Ronnie's K & M in the late 70's and early 80's. Jean was an avid supporter of all activities her children and grandchildren were involved in; football, baseball, basketball, track, cheerleading and twirling.
Survivors: A son; Ronnie Wayne Ainsworth and wife,
Sherri, 2 daughters; Donna Driskill-Thackerson and
husband, Roy, and Delinda Snider and husband Larry. Jean is lovingly referred to as "Nannie" by six grandsons; Brandon, Wade, Ronnie, Calvin, Sonny, Jacob and Douglas and 1 grand-daughter; Tammy, a great grandson Jayson and 3 great grand-daughters Kylyn, Kynlee, and Alissa, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin, both parents and brother, Howard Wallace (Jack) Veal.
