Adam John Schupp Jr., passed away Feb. 28, 2010, at his home in Lake Fairways, North Fort Myers, Fla. Born on May 2, 1926, in Louisville, Ky., to Adam Schupp and Kathryn Woosley Schupp, where he grew up and attended Louisville Male High School before joining the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy on a battle ship in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

Following his service to the nation, he worked for the Pillsbury Company for over 30 years in New Albany, in Seelyville, and at the Pillsbury corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, where he retired in 1988 as the Director of Agricultural Safety and Health. Following his retirement he settled in North Fort Myers, where he began Schupp Consulting. He was a recognized expert specializing in grain elevator safety. He traveled extensively, teaching and conducting seminars on OSHA standards and how to apply them within the grain industry. He also published numerous articles for the Grain Journal. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, tennis, and reading and listening to music by the pool.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Schupp of North Fort Myers; his former wife, Lorraine "Bunky" Schupp of Terre Haute; daughter, Loretta Kathryn Heckman of Louisville, Ky.; daughter and husband, Debbie and Steve Hood of Brazil; son and wife, Coleman and Elena Schupp of Charleston, S.C.; daughter and husband, Rebecca and Jase Robinson of Columbus, Ind.; two brothers, Jim Schupp of Arizona and Herb Schupp of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Kathy Miller, Christina Modesitt, Denie Sadler, John Hood, Stevie Barr, Eliot Schupp, and Lean Schupp; great-grandchildren, Kayla Johnson and Mia Modesitt; and several much loved nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Traditions Hall, 105 E. National Ave., Brazil, with the Rev. Joseph H. Chillington officiating. All family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Veterans Administration.
