As a child she was burned on a shoulder and chest with scalding water (pan from the stove). She moved to Chicago at a very young age and allegedly dated Al Capone's cousin. After moving to Montana in the 1950's, she became a bartender and was known for the red wigs she wore and her very thin eyebrows. She loved to hunt and fish and canned her own meat, fruit and vegetables.
She was married to Fred Dawson who died of a heart attack. Her husband George Smilonich was still living in 2014. Both her husbands were prison guards at the old Deer Lodge State Prison. She never had any children. She was cremated and ashes are with her husband.
Your notes and flowers are a blessing. Thank you!
