She was born to Thomas Watson Pope and Verna Hunt Pope. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and their Sewing Ministry and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Roe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Henry Roe; daughters, Rhonda Hedderich and Verna Roe; sister, Dorothy Hunt and brother, Thomas Pope Wheeler.
She is survived by daughters, Nannette Scarbrough and Eugenia Tutor; sons, Dr. Gerald Roe and John Roe; brother, Hoyt Pope; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
