He was born on June 10, 1934 in Wabash, Indiana to Clarence Everett and Ethel (Utter) Clingaman. He married Velva A. (Rutherford) Clingaman, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2018. Clutch served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Moose, the Eagles, and the American Legion, and retired from Chrysler Corporation as a pipe fitter.
He is survived by his children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Jim Clingaman and Jerry Clingaman, and sister Janice Brown and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 4pm – 6pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11am at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with Pastor Logan Westrick officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru. Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
