Rogelio was a proud Vietnam Veteran, he was retired from the US Navy after 21 years of service. He was a member of the St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Fil-American Association, Last Patrol, and the American Legion in Kingsville, Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and hunting. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, storytelling and talking with friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Rochester Santiago and numerous brothers.
Rogelio is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Simeona Santiago of Kingsville, Texas; three children, Rogelio (Angela) Santiago, Jr. of Calallen, Texas, MaryAnn (Troy) Nelson of Austin, Texas, Catherine Santiago of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Medardo Santiago of Philippines, and Ruben Santiago of McHenry, IL; three sisters, Lolita Calbang of Philippines, Analiza Pragola of Philippines, and Remedios Atienza of McHenry, IL; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5p.m. – 9p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10a.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
