Imogene Maxine Hatley of Millsap, TX, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November, 30, 2019.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and encourager by all who knew and loved her.
She was born on June 23, 1926, in Hornersville, MO to Lester and Faye Peel. Imogene was a lifelong learner. Following high school graduation, she enlisted in the Army Corps of Cadets Nursing School during WW II. She continued taking various classes at schools in three states almost until retirement. Her life was one of service as a nurse, nursing home administrator but foremost as a missionary. Those who met her frequently commented on her sweet nature, always smiling and asking "How can I help?" -- Right up to her last days. It would be hard to find someone more kind and loving than Gene Hatley. She was a rock who never got frazzled at any emergency, always strong and in-charge and making things happen. She was a tremendous role-model for her family, demonstrating love, encouragement and support at every opportunity.
Imogene is survived by her daughters, Tura Cason, Kathy Bassham, Beth Crooms and Mary Geiger; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, her brothers John Glenn Peel and Darrell Peel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wayman Hatley, her parents and her brothers Edwin Peel and Charles Peel.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 9th at the funeral home. Her memorial service will follow visitation at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the DFW National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9th.
