Herman C Baehr, Former Mayor of Cleveland, was a businessman and politician that served as Cuyahoga County Recorder from 1904 to 1909. He was the Mayor of Cleveland from 1910 to 1912. He was the son of Jacob and Magdalena Zipf Baehr. His parents lived in Cleveland from 1850 until 1962 before moving to Iowa and then returning here shortly after the Civil War. He received his education in public schools. He quit school at the age of 14 to join his father's brewing company.
