Arthur C. Scruggs, 70, of Pace, FL passed away on Thurs., Dec. 5, 2019. He was born on May 4, 1949 in Castleberry, AL to the late Dewey Scruggs and Ruby Powell Scruggs.
Arthur retired July 1, 1987 from the U. S. Army. Receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in 1992 he taught school in various locations until starting work as Barracks Manager at NAS Pensacola and Whiting Field, FL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Annie Watson, Lillie Pearl Jones, Shirley Horax, Juanita Brown, Ruby and Gwendolyn.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Kathie Scruggs; son, Michael (Beth) Scruggs; daughter, Melissa Scruggs; grandchildren, Mya McCormick, Mason Scruggs, and Grace Scruggs; brothers, Dewey Scruggs, Jr. and Floyd Scruggs; and sisters, Sally Chapman and Sue Heiney.
The family would like to thank Pastor Andy Martin from Wallace Baptist Church and the ER and CCU staff at West Florida Hospital for wonderful care and prayers.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tues., Dec. 10, 2019 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Andy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 10AM prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Mason Scruggs, Dewey Scruggs, Mark McCraney, Ian McCraney, Ryan McCraney, and Bobby Guy.
Johnny Guy, Daryl Malone, Dewey Scruggs, Jr. and Floyd Scruggs will act as honorary bearers.
