Mr. Hubbard was born at Constableville on December 1, 1857, a son of the late Amos and Emeline Smith Hubbard. During his younger life, he attended the school at Constableville and later Whitestown Seminary; he taught school in this section for ten years.
Mr. Hubbard has lived in his present home east of Ava for 60 years, where he was engaged in farming; he served as justice of the peace in Ava for 30 years; he always took an active interest in the affairs of the town, working for the betterment of the community; he was well informed and people often came to him for advice in business and legal matters.
He was twice married, his wives being sisters; he married Miss Mary E. Davis on October 19, 1881 at North Western and her death occurred in March, 1931; on September 15, 1934, he married Miss Emma J. Davis at Whitesboro, who survives.
Mr. Hubbard was a member of the M. E. Church of Ava and a member of the church board for may years; he was also a member of Summit Lodge, IOOF of Boonville.
Surviving besides his wife is one son, Kenneth G. Hubbard, at home; one brother, Luman Hubbard, Clinton; and one sister, Mrs. George D. Hawley of Greenfield, Calif.
Interment will be made in Boonville Cemetery. Rome Daily Sentinel, Monday Evening, March 7, 1938
