Mrs. Gertie Mae Johnson, 74, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in her home at 324 Eastern Ave., Sciotoville.
Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 17, 1883, to John and and Elizabeth Jenkins Amlin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Mrs. Johnson was married March 25, 1905, to George C. Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Grace H. Malone of Portsmouth Rt. 5 and Mrs. Edna M. Weidner, 8037 Hayport Rd. Wheelersburg; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Sciotoville Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Portsmouth Chapter.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Daehler Funeral Home with Rev. John Dunham assisted by Rev. Floyd Rowe, officiating. Burial will Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home. Eastern Star services will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
