Son of Peter Leclercq and Honorine Vandeuren.

He arrived in New York, USA 18 June 1891 on the S.S. Noordland with his parents and 2 siblings. He lived in Illinois for a time before he moved to Indiana.

He married Effie May Williams 19 Nov 1907 in Brazil, Indiana. They had 8 children together; Charles, Floyd, Russell, Alfred, Leo, Honorine (Lorraine), Mable, and Dorothy.

He also lived in Nelsonville, OH for a short time around 1910, working as a coal miner. After moving back to Indiana, he continued to work in the coal mines until his death at the young age of 36 from acute alcoholic intoxication.
