Linda Hyde age 71, of Opp, Alabama passed away December 11, 2019. She was born October 5, 1948 in Geneva Alabama to Ira Lee Thames and Dora Hawthorne Thames. Linda worked many years as a sewing machine operator for General Manufacturing, retiring only after her granddaughter Katie was born to help take of her. She enjoyed cooking, reading, watching murder mysteries and old westerns. Nothing was as important to Linda as her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Doyle Hyde; father, Ira Lee Thames; mother, Dora Hawthorne Hyde; brother, Bruce Thames.
She is survived by daughters, Stephaine Hyde, Donna Hyde-House and husband Jeremy and Katie Hyde, brothers, Burley Thames and wife Dovie, Billy Thames and Bobby Thames, sister, Wanda Lavallee and husband Jean, sister-in-law, Debbie Wilson and brother-in-laws, Donnie and Kenneth Wilson, grandchildren, Nichols Jenkins, Amber House, Brandon House and Greg House, great grandson Jaxton Ira-Doyle Savage. She relished being their "Granny". She is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones including numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral : 11:00 AM Monday December 16, 2019 at West County Line Baptist Church Opp, Alabama with Derwood Cleland officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be at Babbie Cemetery.
