Margie Ree McNabb Bethune and her twin sister (Annie Ree deceased) was born January 29, 1945 to the late Ophelia and Oree McNabb Jr in Clayton, AL. Margie began life humbled and with challenges. Overcoming a child illness such as Polio and being restricted to a wheelchair, by the miracle and grace of God, she began to walk. She was the able to attend public school and thrive.

Margie moved to Ft Walton Beach at an early age and began a productive and successful life. Margie always assisted family members in any way possible which included assisting raising nieces and nephews.

Margie met and married George H. Bethune. She worked faithfully as a Food Service Worker for over 20 years at Ft Walton Beach Medical Center until her retirement. Margie was an active member of the Beulah First Baptist Church serving as a member of the Usher Board until her health no longer allowed her to serve.

Margie was a very private person, but never met a stranger, always a kind and caring word with a smile.

Margie is preceded in death by her son, Fredrick E. Bethune; brothers, Cleveland and Arthur McNabb; Sisters, Ceola Howell, Lessie Mae Lasley, and Marilyn Franklin; Father in law, Rev. William Ford

Margie is survived by her husband of 54 yrs., George Bethune; Daughter, Valarie (Derrell); Son, George (Tyronnda); Five Grandchildren; Mother in law, Minnie Ruth Ford; Sisters, Josephine (Sam) Brown, Anna (AL) McNabb and Leola (Kelly) Holmes; Brothers and sisters in laws, Walter (Geraldine), James (Barbara), Bernisha McNabb, Lillie McNabb and Mary McNabb; Daughter in law, Miranda; a special niece and caregiver, Brenda Bowden and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11:30 A.M. at Beulah First Baptist Church in FWB followed by a funeral service at 12:30 P.M.
