After getting married, Angela and her husband Edward moved to New York. There they were proprietors for fifteen years of Eddie & Angie's Imperial Food Market on Olmstead Avenue in Bronx, which was the hub of the neighborhood. When they sold their business, she waitressed in Manhattan until she retired. Angela was an avid reader and loved crocheting, but the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters JoAnn Fusik and her husband Paul of Monroe, NY and Barbara Khalid of Philadelphia, PA. Angela is also survived by her sisters Rose Smedsrud of Englewood, CO, and Kathleen McCarthy of Minot, ND. Angela has eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Edward James Burke, son William Burke, grandson Raymond Burke, and her two brothers Raymond Hager and Richard Hager.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe, NY 10950. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Rd, Monroe, NY 10950, followed by interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY.
