"Helen" was the first wife of my Uncle George Riback. They were married on March 15, 1947, and she sadly passed away one year later on March 20, 1948 from idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (known as ITP) which occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks platelets. However in 1948, it would have just been known as a blood disease and not curable. Today it would have been treatable.
Helen was the daughter of Juho (John) Otto Nasi and Hulda Marja Aho who were emigrants from Finland with the earliest census showing them in Portland in 1910. She was the second of three children: Sadie Marie, Hulda Helena & Elmer John.
