Son of Robert Luther Draughon (b LA), son of Millard Fillmore Draughon (b LA) and Elizabeth Higginbotham (b LA), and of Fay Allen (b Texas), daughter of Thomas Allen (b NC 1848) and Julia Allen (b GA 1949). His father remarried Florence Browning (1881-1980). Siblings born after Guy are half-siblings via his father and Florence Browning Draughon.

Guy served in WW1 early by giving his birth year as 1899.
Returned to Texas and attended Forest Avenue High where the 1920 yearbook reads,
"Guy has been with us only a short time as he has been serving with Uncle Sam in France. Guy fought in the four major battles of the war. He makes an excellent lieutenant."

Married 1st to Artie Lillian Ingram. Their son lived one day.
Married 2nd to Nell Caton and had 2 sons.

Worked as a clerk and an engineer for Lone Star Gas.
