A native of Topeka, Kansas Jan had also lived in various Kansas and Florida locations. She was also a resident of Wayne County Georgia the past several years and attended Jesup Presbyterian Church.
Jan was a 1968 Topeka West High School Graduate and married John her high-school sweetheart.
Jan became a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, and life-long friend to many. She loved children and specialized in "Chapter I" handicapped child education.
She was the daughter of the late Donald Eugene Messer, #(62821897) and Mary Louise "nee Knapp" Messer, #(54044578) of Topeka.
Preceding her in death was their only son Christopher Allen 'Chris' Pribble, #(43876845), Nicholas Allen Pribble, #(43876845, infant son of Christopher), and her beloved sister Karen Louise "nee Messer" Becker, (Tom) of Montgomery, Alabama.
Survivors are her husband of 52 years, John A. Pribble of Jesup, Georgia and Groveland, Florida.
Two daughters, Amy Lynn "nee Pribble" Eastlack (husband Robert) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Paula Marie "nee Pribble" Hunt (husband Duane) of Minneola, Florida. Her father-in-law Paul Pribble of Jesup.
A brother Donald Stephen Messer (wife Renee) of Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral services will be on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Jesup Presbyterian Church with Pastor Pete Ullmann officiating Jan's service.
Burial will be in the Jesup City Cemetery, 579 North First Street.
