Phyllis died in her home after a two month illness. Born in Rockford, daughter of Kenneth and Viola Youngman. Married jack E. Gillen in Rockford, July 11, 1944. Employed as a secretary by Precise Punch Products Co. for eight years. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church. In 1940 was a member of the first graduating class of West High School.

Survivors include husband, Jack; two sons, mark and Kirk; mother, Mrs. Viola Gates; grandson, Dopuglas; a brother, Kenneth S. Youngman. She was prdeceased by her father, Kenneth on Feb. 19, 1968.∼Daughter of Viola de Flon Youngman Gates
