Dan was born in Arcadia Park, Texas, to the late Tom and Emma (Hessel) Adam. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and on Dec. 17, 1947, he married Betty Fowler in Mesquite, Texas. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #137 of Bellmead and retired from Rocketdyne as a machinist.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Adam, of Waco; daughters, Debra Bond, of Oklahoma and Barbara Swenson, of Port Arkansas; son, Mike Adam, of Eddy; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many other family members; and a host of friends.
