(1918 - 1997)

Harold A. Olson Sr., age 78, of 1804 22nd St., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, January 2, 1997, at Two Rivers Community Hospital.

According to Harold's wishes there will be no funeral services held. Cremation will take place.

He was born May 31, 1918, in Angelica, Wis., son of the late John Sr. and Elsie Johnson Olson. He served in the 42nd Engineer Division in the United States Army during World War II. He served in the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines. On May 18, 1946, he married Louise Schultz at St. Luke Catholic church, Two Rivers. Mr. Olson was employed at the Manitowoc Equipment Works for 18 years retiring in 1982. He was a retired member of Local 516 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a member of the VFW Post 1248 and Two River Historical Society. Harold was an avid Packer fan, Cub's fan, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold A. Olson Jr. Manitowoc, and his special friend Cathy Karl, John and Suzanne Olson, Green Bay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Michael Miller, Whitelaw, Kaye and Jerold Ceaglske, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren, Harold A. Olson III, Jeffery Olson, Brittney Olson, Jacqueline Olson, Kurt Olson, Kevin Olson, AmyJo Miller, and John Ceaglske; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bessie Knope, North Port, Fla.; Inez and Roman Wisniewski, Two Rivers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include Daniel and Jane Schultz, LeRoy and Jean Schultz, Louie and Ellie Schultz, Dale and Marilyn Schultz, Leona Wondrash, Carol and Frank Novy, all of Two Rivers, Shirley Holschbach, Manitowoc, Earl and Lois Schultz, Mequon, Raymond and Marie Schultz, Menomonee Falls, Carl Schultz, Mesa, Ariz. A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, John Edward, Herbert, Vernon, Ray and Roy, by three sisters, Olive, Alice and Irene, and by in-laws, Thelma Schultz, Bob and Grace Schultz, Orville Holschbach and Dick Wondrash.

Memorials would be appreciated to the Two Rivers Historical Society, Manitowoc Humane Society or the Salvation Army.

Friends may call at the Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
