Jesse D. Spencer Jr., 66, of 3412 Argentine Blvde., Kansas City, Kan., died Saturday at the St. Joseph Home for the Aged, Kansas City, Kan. He was born in Bartlesville, OKla., and had lived in Kansas City, Kan., 50 years.

Mr. Spencer was a switchman for the Kansas City Terminal Railway for 38 years before he retired in 1976. He was a member of the Crest Bible Church, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Spencer was a past commander of the Argentine Post of the American Legion and was named Wyandotte County Legionaire of the year in 1966.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Association of Retired and Verteran Railway Employees.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bette M. Spencer of the home; a son, Mike Spencer, Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Cynthis L. Ayers, Ottiawa, Kans; three brothers, William H. Spencer, San Leandro, Calif., Leonard A. Spencer, Costa Mesa, and Robert C. Spencer, North Hollywood, Calif; three sisters, Mrs. Vivian A. Cain, Joshua Tree., Mrs. Delores M. Fitzpatrick, Palmdale, Calif., and Mrs. Connie Wilson, Springfield, MO; and two grandsons.

Services will be at 1:00pm Tuesday at hte Simmons Chapel; burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery

Friends may call from 6 to 9pm Monday at the Chapel. The family suggest contributions to the church or to Cancer Action, Inc.
