Shelton Bruner, 79, of 8968 Spooner Quarter Road, Blakely, GA, passed away at his residence earlier today, December 18, 2019. His funeral will be held Friday, December 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery, Blakely, GA, with Grant Bruner, Philip Buckhalter, Phil Buckhalter, Hunter Evans, Kim Pyle, Danny Vickers, Ronny Shingler and Chad Chapman serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 2 p.m.
Shelton was born, July 30, 1940, in Blakely, GA, to the late Oscar Byron Bruner and Ruby Mae Tolar Bruner. He was a member of the Cedar Springs Free Will Baptist Church and was a farmer. He was a graduate of Jakin High School and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Springfield Coffee Club.
His survivors include a daughter, Terri (Allen) LeGrone; a son Tony (Lisa) Bruner; one brother, Ronald (Patsy) Bruner of Jakin, GA and one sister; Myrna Hinson (Charles) of McRae, GA. He has two grandchildren; Grant Bruner of Blakely, GA and Kelley (Andrew) Grillo of Milton, GA and two great-grandchildren; Greyson and Nelson Grillo.
