Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Earl Emanuel Bagley, 83, returned to his loving Heavenly Father on Saturday, Jan. 1, 1994, of causes incident to age.
Born Nov. 13, 1910 in Wilford, Idaho, to Asa and Jane Meservy Bagley. Married Alice Marie Bird in the Logan LDS Temple on July 20, 1932.
Scouting was always a part of Earl's life and he was awarded the Silver Beaver. As a member of the LDS Church, he served in most every position. Some were scoutmaster, Stake Young Men's president, Stake high councilman, bishop, and Patriarch. He served in the Navy three years. He was in the Pacific during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart after surviving his ship being sunk at sea in the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
Earl worked as an accountant most of his adult life and spent his spare time serving the Lord by serving his fellowmen. He loved music, drama and writing. He wrote poems, plays, a history of his Navy experiences and played the harmonica in a band. He never quit giving of himself and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many.
For the last two years of Earl's life, he resided at the Hillside Villa and made many friends there. Thank-you to all of the wonderful workers and friends who took care of him.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; five children and their spouses, Dean (Coene) Bagley, Mrs. Earlene (James) McIntosh, Mrs. Bonnie (Stanton) Anderson, Mrs. Loran (Arnie) Sielhorst, Brent (Diann) Bagley; 29 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald Bagley.
