Peter Placido Viola, Jr., 44, died unexpectedly on May 20, 2006. Peter was born in Port Chester in 1961 to Peter P. Viola, Sr., and the late Beatrice Viola (Hyler). Peter was devoted to his son and best friend Nicholas McGee, to whom he has passed along his wonderful and wry sense of humor, intelligence and absolute love for reading books. Growing up in Mamaroneck, Peter was an avid athlete, who played baseball, football and golf. He played for a semi-pro football team in Yonkers. His love for golf gave him an advantage in his career as a professional caddy at various golf clubs. He was highly sought after for golf advice by professional baseball and football athletes living in and around Westchester County. Peter is the cherished brother of Carol and William Brander of Carmel, Mary and Ralph Signorelli of Port Chester, Charles and Tanya Viola of Australia, Michael Viola of Larchmont and Scott and Allyson Viola of Harrison. He is the cool, fun and beloved uncle of James Viola, Angela and Anthony Signorelli, Devon Viola, Shayna Viola and Jenna and Jayson Viola. He will also be especially missed by his godfather Robert Viola, his godmother Dottie Leghorn and Ina Viola Aloia, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his mother Beatrice Viola, maternal grandparents, Charles and Caroline Hyler (Illigasch) and paternal grandparents, Herbert and Mary Viola (Russo). A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 30, at 10:00 am, at Most Holy Trinity Church, 320 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York. Interment immediately following at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, New York.
