(1948 - 2006)

Two Rivers native and longtime resident of Summit County, Colorado, John August (Jack) Brandt Jr., died Jan. 23, 2006, in Dillon, Colo.

Jack was born May 1, 1948 in Two Rivers, to John and Virginia Brandt. He married Two Rivers native, Barbara Bowser, in 1968; served in the Marines during the Vietnam War; and moved to Colorado in 1974. Jack enjoyed running in the woods, tinkering with cars, and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and friend, who will be missed by many.

Jack is survived by his mother; his wife; their two sons: Noel and Paul; daughter-in-law: Heather (Forbes); two sisters: Jenene Garey and Elizabeth Brandt-Gilmer; two brothers: Todd and Joey; and three sisters-in-law: Ann Gospodarek, Marcia Chatenka and Monica Koutnik. His father, who was Two Rivers' police chief, predeceased him in 1987. He was also predeceased by his father-in-law: George Bowser; and mother-in-law: Annabelle Bowser.

He will be buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Memorial services are scheduled for Feb. 11, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Dillon Valley, Colo.
