Ann Kakes Fakundiny, age 93, died peacefully on Oct. 26, 2006, at Loma Linda Hospital in Redlands, Calif.

She was born in Mishicot on April 3, 1913, to Thomas and Anna (Dushek) Kakes. She married the late Walter Fakundiny in Manitowoc in 1939. The family moved to Highgrove, Calif., in 1945.

She is survived by her daughters: Jeanne and son-in-law: Charles Otto, of Arizona; Lois Hayes of California; two sons: Robert and (Ann) Fakundiny of New York; and Paul of California; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Lensmeyer, Whitelaw; Lucille Engeldinger, Mishicot; three brothers: Edward, Mishicot; Alois, Two Rivers; Raymond of Whitelaw; also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister: Rose Kakes Steinbert, Michigan; seven brothers: Tom, Emil, John, William, Matt, Ben and Daniel.

Services were held at Montecito Memorial Park, California. Graveside services were held at Montecito Mortuary in Colton, Calif.
