Charlotte Lawhorne Biggs, 91 of Woodbridge, VA died on December 24, 2019 at her home. Charlotte was born December 16,1928 in Phoenixville, PA.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, Charles Lawhorne and Maybelle Elliot Lawhorne, her sisters, Jane Moore (2008) and Isabelle Thomas (2015), her loving husband of 56 years, Arthur O. Biggs (2008) and her only child Deborah Barnes (2009) and two nieces, Cheryl (2007) and Pat (2014).

She is survived by her loving grandson, Samuel Barnes of Woodbridge VA. Whom she loved dearly and cherished and felt very blessed having him as her grandson. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Bobby, Dennis, Jenni, Art, Sharon, and Ricky, along with her best neighbors Mary and Roger Helmandollar and her caregiver, Dinah

Charlotte graduated from Phoenixville High School Class of 1946. She then attended Albert Einstein Medical Center & Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, where she received a degree of Register Nurse and graduated with the class of 1950. In 1952 Charlotte traveled to the Panama Canal to visit her sister Jane; there she met her wonderful husband Arthur. Following their wedding they moved to Washington, D.C.

She worked for the Veterans Hospital and Columbia Hospital for Women. She retired after 24 years in 1991 from Columbia Hospital as Associated Administration of Patient Care Services. Following her retirement, she took up the game of golf so she could join her husband, Arthur. They spent many years playing on many golf courses. She also played with the Ladies Leagues @ Lake Ridge, Forest Greens and Fort Belvoir.

Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed with many relatives, friends, and neighbors. The family will receive friends at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA 22193 on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 10:00am – 11:00am. A life celebration service will begin immediately following the visitation at 11:00am. Charlotte will be laid to rest with her husband in Quantic National Cemetery.
